Dear Friends in Christ,
The Faith Formation team at St. Peter’s is excited to begin our 2026-2027 year!
As per last year, classes will continue on Sunday evenings starting at 5:30pm and ending at 7:00pm. Classes will be on a rotating basis, so your child will be attending class approximately twice every month. In addition we are switching a few Sunday classes to Monday classes due to holiday weekends and, on 4 occasions, combining ALL classes. For your convenience, I am including a brief summary of the program with additional details.
In addition to our class schedule we will be including family fellowship activities.
Please review the following information before deciding to register:
- Weekly Mass attendance is expected for all families. It is a commandment of God and we are obligated to obey our Lord. Going to class does not replace weekly Mass.
- We expect each family (adults and child/children) to attend confession during the year, as well as spend time in Adoration after a Saturday Mass.
- Each family is asked to dedicate some time serving our parish throughout the year. We will make you aware of service opportunities as they become available. Keep a lookout in the weekly bulletin as well.
- In addition to attending Mass and dedicating time serving our church, each family is asked to attend three fellowship events and also Lenten Soup Supper! The date of these events are included on our calendar.
- All students are expected to meet their curriculum goals in order to advance to the next grade level. Please note: this is particularly important for students preparing to receive their First Holy Communion or the Sacrament of Confirmation. Should a student not demonstrate basic knowledge of the sacrament for which they are preparing, it will need to be postponed until they are prepared and ready.
We are excited to start the 2026-2027 Faith Formation year on August 23rd with a Children’s Mass at 10:00 am. Following Mass plan on attending a parent meeting while students enjoy refreshments in the Parish Hall. In addition, classes begin on Sunday August 23rd for grades 1,2,7 & 8.
Don’t forget to register early online by July 18th before fees increase. As you register you will notice that all fees can now be paid online or stop in at the office Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to pay in person. (Office closed from 12:00-1:00 for lunch.) Or, scan the QR code to register now!
Sundays in the fall will continue to truly be the Lord’s Day, with Mass in the morning and Faith Formation Classes in the evening!
In His Service,
Aimee Thomas
